Elona, if we all spoke with our students about these kinds of things (instructional strategies, goals, environment…) on a regular basis I think we’d see some big changes in our schools.
I did ask students that. I can remember some of the things such as don’t give us homework if no one at home can help us with homework, explain things in more than one way, let me listen to music while I work, and give us more time to complete work. I ask students how I could help them be better students. These were some of the answers.
